Faster than sound car-Bloodhound SSC launching

First road test of Bloodhound SSC (supersonic car) is being launched at Newquay airfield in Cornwall, UK. This will be launched after intensive experiment of about 9 years. Experiment started on Oct 28, 2007.

The Bloodhound will be launched on Thursday (26th Oct 2017).

This pencil shaped amazing car will reach a maximum speed of 320 Kmph over 2.7 Km runway. The speed is expected to skyrocket to somewhere 1609 Kmph which will be @4X than the speed of some of the reputed present day racing cars like Porsche, Lamborghini, and Ferrari. Currently these sports cars have speed of 400-500 Kmph.

This project is aimed at setting new record of land speed of 1000 Kmph and also to inspire next generation about science, technology, mathematics and engineering.

The car is 13.4 meters long weighing 7.5 tonnes and has 135,000 horsepower engine powered by EJ200 from a Eurofighter Typhoon.

This car will zoom 0-1609 Kmph in 55 seconds.

Earlier the record was set by Thrust supersonic car having speed @ 1228 Kmph. The test was done by Wing Commander Andy Green in 1997.

Bloodhound will also be tested by Green.

Now you can scatter ashes of loved ones in space

Believe it or not but now you will be able to scatter ashes of your beloved ones in the space.

A British company Ascension Flights is planning to launch its first Ascension aircraft into the space that will cost UK pound 795(INR 68,000) onwards.

The company was set up by two graduates from University of Sheffield, UK and spent last few years in experimenting by sending hundreds of items into the space.

The remains will go up 36km (22 miles) and will be scattered on the outer atmosphere of Earth. HD video will be made so that family and friends can see the process in the space since you cannot go there.

The Ascension 1 aircraft is a payload box fitted with camera, a tracking device and release mechanism. Camera will shoot two and half hour HD video and release mechanism will release the attached balloon that will open and scatter the ashes and parachute will bring back the canister to Earth.

When the ashes are released from the balloon, the winds of stratosphere will spread the particles out across the planet. This will be released in such a way that it will not return on Earth and will have no impact on air pollution.

The launch will take place in the company’s South Yorkshire base.

Pet funerals are also on offer.

Flights will be authorized by Civil Aviation Ministry.

Though we will not be able to experience this but we can fulfill our beloved’s dreams.

Co-founder Dr Chris Rose said “we feel it’s the ultimate send off”.

Norway-1st country to become 100% electric powered

Norway will become the first country in the world to be run on electricity and will be known as the first fully electric powered nation.

Electricity outage is very common in India and many other developing countries across the world. It causes difficulties for a common man.

Everything is being automated now a days and electricity is the core foundation or base of this.

But there are some countries where government puts primary focus on energy sector and designs, formulates and implements policies and laws that give priority to electricity.

Electricity is going to be the lifeline of each one of us in the future.

Energi Norge, an industry advisory body in Norway published a 24 points plan for the switch to electricity, including providing free charging for electric cars across the country and tax exemptions for drivers.

A full conversion to electric cars would require considerable effort within the transport industry.

The body suggests that Norway will operate entirely by using clean energy by year 2050.

Hydro power is currently the source of over 96% of the nation’s electricity and there are more than 110,000 electric cars used in the country.

The country’s ministries have recently declared that no vehicle will be run on any fossil fuel after 2025.

Formula 1 cars more safe with Halo device

Formula 1 race going racy on race circuit and everyone is eagerly waiting as to who will race faster to finish first. Suddenly 2 cars come closer about to touch.

In next 2 seconds the cars collide and are turned upside down and the driver of one car dies.

This has been the case in many races across the world every year.

Motor federation has come with a new device “Halo” which is extra protection on the helmets worn by car racers.

The device was tested for the first time in 2016 and will be introduced in all Formula 1 car races from 2018.

This device is designed to give extra cockpit protection to limit head injuries. This forms a semi circular barrier around the driver’s head to avoid attracting flying debris without completely closing the cockpit.

Many drivers were divided on this with Lewis Hamilton openly opposing this device.

Let’s hope the drivers should feel a bit more safe now..

What happens inside quietest place on Earth

Do you know which the quietiest place on Earth is?

It is Microsoft office in Redmond headquarters in USA. To be precise Anechoic chamber is the exact place at -20.6 dB.

There are six concrete rooms within rooms that enclose the chamber and can reduce the noise of a jet taking off to a whisper.

Literal meaning of Anechoic is echo free.

Year 2015 saw the world record of -9.4dB in Orfield Laboratories in Minneapolis.

Let’s walk through sounds heard at different decibels (dB) which is a measurement unit of sound.

10 dB is the sound of normal breathing.

0 dB is the lowest limit of sound that a human ear can hear.

Negative dB is the sound that a human ear cannot hear.

-24 dB is the noise produced by colliding air molecules and this quietness is outside vacuum.

-20.6 dB is the sound limit inside the Anechoic chamber. The room is so quiet that you can hear your blood flow.

Plane-longer than a football field

Microsoft has developed an airplane longer than a football field and has a wingspan of 385 ft. It is named as Stratolaunch.

Yes, this is the world’s largest plane weighing about 1.3 million pounds.

It weighs 500,000 pounds without fuel and it can carry fuel weighing 250,000 pounds.

It has 28 wheels and has six 747 jet engines.

The aircraft is 238 feet from nose to its end and is 50 feet from the ground to the tip of its vertical tail, its highest point.

This plane developed by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen unveiled it for launching satellite toting rockets into space. This was unveiled in California’s Mojave Desert on 31st May 2017.

The plane is not developed to carry passengers but to carry and launch rockets into space.

This project was being developed for last 6 years and is expected first launch as early as 2019.

This innovation will reduce cost of launching small vehicles into space.

Vending Machine dispensing Ferraris

Now forget about vending machines dispensing eatables and soft drinks.

Vending machine in Singapore is dispensing world’s largest luxury car Ferrari.

The vending machine is a multi building where luxurious cars including Ferrari, Bentley and Lamborghini among others are on display.

The customer wishing to see the car has to use touch screen installed on the ground floor. The moment touch screen is pressed, the selected car comes on the ground floor in 1-2 minutes.

China plans to catch an asteriod and living on it

China plans to do mining and start living on an asteroid.

But before that China plans to find, catch and land on an asteroid. It has plans to catch first asteroid latest by 2020 and make it livable.

This was confirmed by Chinese chief commander of lunar exploration program Ye Pijian

China wants to build space station on the asteroid so that it can command over the world through satellites and check what is happening around the globe.

Ye also said to a Chinese state-run science and technology newspaper that the asteroids located near the Earth have “precious metals,” according to the South China Morning Post, and that the mining could offset the expensive cost of space exploration.

Flying Cars

No traffic jams. Imagine travelling in space to reach office. No traffic lights, no jams.

Yes this is possible with flying cars that have become craze.

Just sit in the flying car, start engine and it will take off just like plane. Reach office in 10 minutes, land car on the road, stop engine and park it.

People imagine flying cars with full automation where it can do whatever human mind thinks.

People are also imagining vertical take off and land (VTOL) of car just like planes and fighters that will be VTOL functional in the near future.

Flying cars will save time and fuel. But it may require licensed pilot to fly a car since this forms part of aviation. If control is given to anyone irrespective of the skills required, it may result in accidents and will not be a safe transport.

Let’s hope for the best.

Bermuda Triangle-Mystery in deep Ocean

Bermuda Triangle.

There are many things associated with this. But one thing never escapes our mind which is vanishing of ships and aircrafts once it enters Bermuda Triangle.

This lies in the western part of the North Atlantic Ocean.

Scientists believe that this happens due to very strong electromagnetic waves that forces ships and aircraft beneath the sea and pulls it down very deep onto the surface of the ocean. Even signals are lost in this process and hence no strong evidence has come till now even though scientists across globe are doing research on this.

One more thing- Believe it or not. The Bermuda Triangle had been described earlier in Rig Veda & Atharva Veda also.
